Arnav @ Nagarjunsagar

Over the weekend we went to NagarjunaSagar, which is supposed to be the largest masonry dam in the world (whatever that means). The place actually is great fun to visit. It is driving distance from Hyderabad. We stay bang on the other side of the city, so it actually took us 2 hours to get out of the city and further 2 hours to reach NagarjunaSagar.

The place has a scenic boat ride which takes you to an island in the lake. Nearby, there are Ethipothala falls, which seems like a scaled down replica of Niarara falls.

Arnav enjoyed the whole trip, but for one particular incident. On our boat ride, he was looking out of the boat through the grill bars. Suddenly his head got stuck in between two bars and would not come out! Within seconds the entire boat crew and passengers were there trying to help - some trying to show him stuff to keep him occupied, others suggesting ways of easing his head out of the bars. So much so that the entire boat was in danger of leaning onto one side and tipping over. Finally Arnav's father somehow managed to free him from the bars, but the poor kid was scared out of his wits!

Anyway, NagarjunaSagar is a nice place to visit, just keeps the kids away from the bars!
